When the doors of Westdale Reformed
Church opened, one hundred and five women came through for
Women’s Spring Conference called
Sisters Serve!
They came from all over Ontario bearing rakes, hoes, gardening
gloves, sewing machines, fabric scraps and servants’ hearts.
They were dispersed to locations across the City of
Hamilton
to do what they said they believed.

On April 25, 2009, the sun/Son shone and the temperature
soared. Women
cleaned yards, pruned trees, collected for the food bank,
washed walls, sorted books, separated clothing, and
assembled packages for refugees.
They operated sewing machines and did needlework for
quilt patches.
They sent notes of encouragement to widows who will receive
the patches for assembly in Malawi to
generate their own income.
‘What impressed me the most about serving was the humble
serving heart of Ted.
There was no judgment just a willing heart to serve
those in need.’
Eva Rothwell Centre is located in one of the poorest
communities in Canada.

“Wendy lives and breathes this mission twenty-four seven.
She is a beautiful, genuine person with the most
humble spirit I have ever seen.”
This is the founder of Sew on Fire, distributing
packages to those in the Third World.
“Residents came
out and worked right alongside us.
I am interested in volunteering my time more there.”
Homestead Christian Care serving those with mental
illness
Thank you to the sisters who served joining hands and
opening their arms to the poor.
After their wo rk
they brought praise to their God and King.
They shared what God was doing around the city at
Mission Services, Homestead Christian Care, Women for
Orphans and Widows and Sew on Fire.
"The
King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you
did for one of the least of these brothers of
mine, you did for me.'
Matthew 25:40
