Women's Ministry

by Grace Bruines, President Design Team

Dear Sisters in Christ;

Greetings to all of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and may His richest blessings be yours in 2008.

My name is Grace Bruines and I am the President of the Reformed Church Women Design Team of Ontario. I have been a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Woodstock since 1959.

The Executive this year is:

President – Grace Bruines (Woodstock)
Vice President and Past President – Beth Germs (Chatham)
Secretary – Carol Graham (Stevensville)
Treasurer – Yolanda Walker (Wainfleet)

There are a number of churches that do not have a representative on the Design Team. Please prayerfully consider serving in this manner for your church.

The Lord willing, we look forward to seeing all of you at the Ontario Spring Conference Saturday, April 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Woodstock, Ontario. Our speaker will be Nellie From. Nellie is a Prayer Coordinator with Breakthrough Prayer Ministries, a division of Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ). The host churches for this conference are Brantford, Cambridge, Springford and Woodstock.

Watch for our next mailing with the Conference Poster & brochures.

Our next Design Team Meeting is May 3, 2008. The location will be announced later.

The Fall Conference will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Camp Shalom.

Please note the date change. The churches hosting the fall conference are Grimsby, Hamilton, St Catherines and Stoney Creek.

The RCW are looking to hire a Regional Coordinator for Canada soon. Please read this excerpt from an e-network newsletter.

“We think Blessing Boxes can become an ongoing commitment to Women's Ministries within our region and the RCA, but right now we need your help in funding this ministry. Would you or members of your congregation consider assisting us in getting our regional synod started? In this world so loved by God, the mission and ministry of the church have never been more needed!

So What Is a Blessing Box?

A Blessing Box is a small piece of cardboard that arrives flat, but when assembled, it holds future ministries for women in our communities and around the world. It is a means of receiving offerings from people for RCW ministries!

These offerings directly support a regional coordinator, who will work to connect you and the women of your church to other women in your region, the RCA, and beyond. That connection might be in the form of a mission project in another part of the world, or a ministry happening right in your own region, or it could be a regional gathering for spiritual enrichment. The possibilities are endless! With a strong commitment to prayer and an understanding of the vision of your synod, we are confident the women of your synod will be actively a part of building his kingdom! “

Contact me for help getting your Blessing Boxes and support our RCW ministries.

Here is a letter from Bill Snoei regarding mission work within our own Synod. Please consider this when your church needs work done or is looking for local mission trip ideas!

Re: “Mission Work” within our own Synod
To Whom it may Concern

Other congregations and ourselves have been wonderfully involved in volunteer work outside (and sometimes within) our country. It is possible we overlook other needs in our own churches.

Asking for help is not always easy, but we would like to create an opportunity, to fill a need if there is one. If you as a congregation see a need for improvement, repairs, painting, etc. to the church building or parsonage, and in order to get these things done, you need some additional volunteer help, please let us know!

If we can improve helping others as congregations, it would not only have an uplifting affect on all involved, but it would also bring great fellowship.

If finances for materials is a problem, we will try to help in that area as well if possible.

Please call or fax to let us know your needs and wishes (if we don’t hear anything, all church buildings and parsonages must be in good shape )

With Christian Greetings,

Bill Snoei

I look forward to a wonderful year leading our Reformed Church Women in serving our Lord and Saviour, working to do His work and further His kingdom.

Blessings,
Grace Bruines
