China - Canada: Eye Opening Comparisons
John Moerman

I expect you too were horrified by the indiscriminate firing of machine guns at peacefully demonstrating students in Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Government leaders, Members of Parliament, Chinese Canadians, news reporters, commentators and editors, university professors and student leaders, were quick to condemn the murdering of the innocent. Newspapers, T.V. and radio commentators freely used words such as "cruel", "brutal", "mindless", "deplorable", "carnage", "bloodbath" "murderous", "slaughter of peacefully demonstrating students", just to name a few. The House of Commons held an emergency debate on the situation lasting into the early morning hours, all parties agreeing and demanding an immediate stop to the repression of students protesting for democracy.

Has it dawned on you that our Canadian reaction to the situation in China amounts to gross hypocrisy? We have used different moral measurements for China's communist hardliners than we have for the moral catastrophe of violently ending the lives of unwanted children in our own back yard, and for those responsible for it. Let me explain. FACT NO. 1:

Chinese students march for democracy in Beijing's Tiananmen Square and other cities throughout the land.

COMPARE:

Babies growing in the womb, waiting to be b up, and have a place under the sun like you and me.

FACT NO. 2:

Liberation army soldiers let loose on unarmed Chinese students.

COMPARE:

Canadian Government leaders, M.P.'s and Judges of the Supreme Court, letting loose doctors and nurses on innocent and defenceless human beings growing in the womb.

FACT NO. 3:

Uniformed soldiers in battle gear, operating machine guns and tanks, killing students occupying Beijing's Tiananmen Square'.'

COMPARE:

Medically uniformed physicians and nurses of the pro-abortion movement in hospitals and abortion clinics bringing about nasty blood-baths of babies growing in the womb, dismembering tiny bodies, using instillation, D. and C., suction machines, cutting to pieces by curettes, burning out by caustic salt poisoning, crushing by prostaglandin induced premature labour.

FACT NO. 4:

An unknown number of Chinese students gunned down on black Sunday, June 4, 1989, perhaps as many as 10,000 dying way of this bloody massacre.

COMPARE:

A daily average of 175-200 human beings killed by way of abortion's bloody massacre, bringing Canada's annual total to 60,000-70,000. Are we no longer hearing the "Silent Scream"-of this moral catastrophe perpetrated behind closed doors year upon year?

FACT NO. 5

The propaganda machine of the Chinese ruling politburo justifying their actions by outright lies

COMPARE:

Pro-choice government officials and other abortionists claiming that the "medical services" of removing the fetus is a matter between a woman and her doctor and that she has a right over her own body, thereby ignoring the fact that another human being is growing in the womb who also has a right to life.

FACT NO. 6:

Chinese state controlled media branding peacefully demonstrating students as lawbreakers, hoodlums, and counter-revolutionaries, now arresting leaders and jailing them.

COMPARE:

Government officials, judges, news media, and other pro-choice people now branding prolife demonstrators as law-breakers, fanatics, insane, etc. arresting and jailing them for disruption of "medical procedures" performed on women in hospitals and abortion clinics.

FACT NO. 7:

Atheistic communism looks upon the State as "God", and life as cheap and expendable.

COMPARE:

Those of the pro-choice movement have made human rights and freedom their god and idol. The sanctity of lives of unwanted babies is nil. This is why thousands upon thousands of human beings, who are completely innocent and defenceless, are unscrupulously sacrificed on the altars of rationalization, selfishness, and convenience.

In conclusion, I too am deeply distressed by events in China. For years, however, I have also been deeply distressed by events of baby massacres in the womb in our own nation and the world over. This is why I find it so utterly hypocritical of government officials, M.P.'s judges, lawyers, media people, university professors, students, medical people, etc., to condemn atrocities half way around the world while rationalizing away our merciless destruction of life in the womb. Abortions never leave any survivor! Sadness fills my heart. Thus it is my prayer that the above facts and comparisons will lead to a rethinking of our acts of violence which end the lives of thousands upon thousands of innocent and defenceless human beings growing in the womb. Why condemn events in China while closing our eyes to the moral catastrophe in our own nation?
