Title - What is the best thing that can happen to you?
Topic - Salvation
As a rule we wait for things to happen.
Yet we should work for things to happen
In the Word of God we discover that there are times when we have to wait and meditate, but most of the time the Bible positively points us to action:
Pray and work
Ask and it will be given
Nock and it will be opened to you
Go and make disciples . . . teach . . . baptize . . .
Too many Christians are waiting for the time that the Lord will do something for them or to them.
We spoil many things in life and just ask God to straighten them out, only to turn around and do them as bad or worse again, sometimes unwilling to improve because we like it the way it is.
What about your personal spiritual life?
Are you waiting for something to happen there ?
Haven't you discovered what the best thing is that can happen to you? Think back to the historical facts of God's saving Grace. HE sent Jesus Christ into this world to live among men; He was killed by being nailed to a cross through the wrath and blindness of man, while God accepted this death of His Son as sufficient payment for the sins of the whole world. On the third day He was raised from death and by that God pointed out that all who truly believe may one day share in a similar resurrection. Many accepted these historical facts with their minds.
Yet there is something greater that can happen to you when you become fully aware that God's Grace is leading you to believe that life eternal is the goal and purpose of this life.
The best thing that happened to some was when they discovered by the Grace of God that meaning and fulness of God's Grace and Love! It changed their lives, it helped them to live a life of thanksgiving, it caused them to have continuous exciting experience in Jesus Christ.
Others were content with some knowledge and missed the joy and excitement of the full
Christian life as they continued to ask and ask, never willing to give, give what Christ was
holding out before them.
Did it happen to you? If yes, I know your life is a continuous string of thanksgiving and praise to God.
If no, it may happen to you at your asking God for it
