Memorial
Concert In Memory Of Peter Vos
In April of 1997, Mr. Peter Vos, a long time brother and friend of the Reformed Church in Southwestern Ontario, was called home to be with his Lord. Peter will be remembered for his commitment to His Lord.
Originally a member of the Reformed church, Peter joined the Salvation Army when he moved to the Waterloo area. He founded the Sunbeam Lodge in Waterloo and Doon. For several years, he was the Dutch voice of Radio CKKW, where he aired a regular radio gospel program in the Dutch language. He preached God's Word in many Reformed churches as a pulpit supply pastor and as a result was loved and respected by his many brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Peter Vos had one very special love, next to his love for the Lord, and that was his love for the Holy land and the people of Israel. His one prayer in life was that when the Lord called him home, it would be from Jerusalem. In April, while Peter was in Israel, God answered that prayer.
As a memorial to Peter Vos, Ms friends have organized a memorial concert under the theme of "OPERATION EXODUS," to be held at Forward Baptist Church on Meyers Road (Cambridge, Ont.) on November 8, 1997, at 8:00 p.m. The concert will feat' gospel soloists, choirs, and inspirational music.
Participants in this free concert will offer their talents free of charge. There will be a free will offering with all proceeds going to assist Jews in Russia in their attempt to return to Israel. The money will go toward travel expenses. "OPERATION EXODUS' promises to be an exciting evening of PRAISE and WORSHIP and a fitting memorial to a true servant of our Lord.
Peter Vos left behind a legacy of servanthood as Christ described in Matthew 25: 31-46,
'Inasmuch as you have done it unto the least of these, my brethren, you have done it unto me.' On
Saturday, November 8, Peter's friends will be able to honour his memory by extending a helping
hand to a worthy cause while participating in a wonderful service of PRAISE and WORSHIP.
