Where Has The Summer Gone?
Trish Curry

Greetings from the Northern Churches of Classis Ontario! Summer has sure flown by!

Just recently, many youth in our area have spent some time at Camp Shalom. This summer the SIT and DID programs were very successful. Both of these programs were led by Marianne and Harry Frielink. They worked with the youth, teaching them many new things about our Lord. All were able to grow in their faith and experience beautiful times with God and fellow youth.

In Drayton Reformed Church, some other youth-Christa Hesselink, Jason Van Ankum, and Karen Timmerman-have been involved in separate ministries and missions outside of Ontario. There have also been some young adults helping out by working as counselors at Camp Shalom.

Heather Smith, a summer youth pastor in Drayton has really been keeping the youth busy. A trip to Canada's Wonderland, Bingeman's, and campouts are just a few events that the youth have enjoyed. She will be greatly missed as she leaves in September.

The children of the Guelph Reformed Church have also been keeping busy this summer as Vacation Bible School was held. Fifty-seven children were involved in the program. They learned more about being a friend with Jesus as everyday they travelled to a different site. The theme for the program this summer was "Circle of Friends Ranch.'

Summer can never be complete without sitting around at least one campfire. While sitting around a beautiful fire, quite a few individuals in Drayton Reformed enjoyed a Literary Gift Fest. Christian essays, stories, and poems were read by many. A delicious ice cream dessert followed the time of sharing.

Being with fellow Christians and joining in prayer is a real meaningful experience to those involved. A Christian Healing Service in Drayton was held this past month.

News from Harriston and Sheffield is sparse this month. Let us continue to pray for the congregations who are in search of a pastor.

Summer has come to a close, and as we look back,'we can really see how God has been there to comfort us. May we continue dwelling in His comfort.
