Title - Tomorrow

Topic - Procrastination

Exodus 8: 10, "And he said, Tomorrow"

There is a well known axiom which says: "Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today." But the very opposite of this good rule - Procrastination, or Putting it Off - is one of the worst habit,; of many a person. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT WE ARE GOING TO DO TOMORROW. In this chapter we find Pharaoh and the land of Egypt stricken with the second of ten great plagues by which God was going to deliver His people from the bondage of Egypt. God had warned Pharaoh, and Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up and covered the land. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said, "Entreat The Lord, that He may take away the frogs from me, and from my people, and I will let the people go ... 9. And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me; when shall I entreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people .... 10. And he said, TOMORROW"...

TOMORROW seems to offer so much opportunity for many things which ought to be done TODAY. Decisions which baffle us now, we will make Tomorrow; Tasks which weary and irk us today we will put off till Tomorrow; Problems which defy solution today we think will be easier solved tomorrow; Visits to make, Letters to write, Books to read; Reconciliations to make, and scores of other things,. we will do TOMORROW. Today is all too busy and upset; TOMORROW everything will be under control.

Many a Sinner too, knowing that he ought to get right with God, that he ought to accept the invitation to "Come And Follow Jesus", says "Yes, this I should do. But I'm busy now. I'll come TOMORROW."

Have you ever considered the warning of the Apostle James (4: 13-17). 13. "Go to now, ye that say, today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue a year there, and buy and sell, and get gain; 14. Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life. It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little Line, and then vanisheth away.."Or, hear the wise counsel of Solomon in Prov. 27:1, "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." So life ends, and many a tombstone could be marked: "Here Lies TOMORROW".

BUT TOMORROW SOON BECOMES YESTERDAY. Every twenty four hours Tomorrow becomes Today, and Today becomes Yesterday. Yes, every hour and every moment. For "Time Flies". The anticipation of the future is soon past. The enjoyments of the Present are so short. A poet has said:

"Of all sad words of tongue

or pen

The saddest of them is -

'It Might Have Been'."

And so, the man who continually says: TOMORROW, may be classed among those whom Jesus called The Fools. Many have been the losses suffered by "putting it off till TOMORROW". Battles have been lost by waiting till Tomorrow; Business Deals have been forfeited for "Later On"; Opportunities that knock today may never come back tomorrow; and many a soul may have entered a Christless Grave because he waited with meeting his Lord until Tomorrow.

Saying TOMORROW may be like saying NO to God.

When Paul addressed Felix in Acts 24 : 25, "...Felix trembled and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee." But we never read that he did.

Reader, are you in the habit of saying TOMORROW? "The wise man's day is today." A Spanish proverb reads: "The Road of By and-By Leads to The Town of NEVER". Hear therefore The Word of The Lord: "Remember NOW Thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them." Eccles. 12:1.

Pharaoh through the hardness of his heart, and unwillingness to bow before The Almighty God of Israel asked that Moses might pray for him TOMORROW. Perhaps there is a reader of these words who needs Deliverance from Sin NOW. But you are saying: TOMORROW.

COME TO JESUS NOW!!
